Join me in supporting real change and making a critical difference for families who have nowhere else to turn. Oliver is so lucky to have two involved parents and supportive program providers to allow him to be as happy and successful as he has been. Others are not as fortunate. And our family has relied heavily on PWCF from the first day of diagnosis for support and education. With your help PWCF can continue to assist families in crisis and in daily need of guidance. This syndrome is complicated and exhausting for everyone! And it is life-threatening for those who do not have the tools and resources to navigate its extreme challenges.

Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for Prader-Willi California Foundation. As a prior board member of PWCF, I can confirm that every cent taken in is well used for a critical mission not provided anywhere else. Your gift is sincerely appreciated and will help support PWCF’s work improving the lives of individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome and their families throughout California.

Donations received will help us:

  • Support all newly diagnosed families in California
  • Fund PWS Multidisciplinary Medical Clinics
  • Maintain a 24-hour PWS Medical Crisis line - only one in the U.S.
  • Provide the only medically specialized camp in California that exclusively serves persons with PWS
  • Produce educational articles, brochures, webinars, conferences, and a quarterly newsletter
  • Provide advocacy and support services to families and care providers
  • Educate and support teachers, physicians and allied health professionals
  • And so much more!

Thank you family and friends for always supporting Oliver !

And the promised Oliver update:

Oliver has been successfully living away (locally) from his family for six years now in a group home with two other young men. We are deeply engaged in his life and see him often. Every Sunday David takes him to the Farmers Market (where he also volunteers for the Extra Food organization) and for a swim workout, with Special Olympics where David is a longtime coach or the local pool. He is engaged in two different programs during the week, where he takes supported classes at the community college, participates in exercise classes, and is part of a gardening crew providing maintenance to clients in the area. He also recently started his first job, at a local farm, supported by a mentor coach. He is incredibly proud of this accomplishment, which will build toward his long term goal of having a landscaping business. He has also been accumulating a significant inventory of serious garden equipment, and has for a number of years done leaf-blowing and other chores for our fabulous neighbors. He enjoys hiking, holidays (especially the dress-up!), traveling with the family to Hawaii and Palm Springs, exercising (got onto the Peloton bandwagon), and is becoming an accomplished rider with lessons at one of his programs.
