Hi, it’s Emma!
This year is a Virtual Walk and we are going to pound the pavement in a new way!As I do every year, I am fundraising for Prader-Willi California Foundation. As you can imagine, this year PWCF needs our help more than ever. PWCF helps California individuals and families living with the many challenges of Prader-Willi Syndrome. They have helped me since I was born and I am grateful!!
Staying active is important for people with Prader-Willi Syndrome. Since the pandemic began my family goes for walks and has been staying fit by participating in the Santa Clara County “Magnificent 7” hike challenge at 7 different designated parks in the Santa Clara County Regional Park system.The hikes are fun (even when they are hard!) and the scenery is beautiful. 4 down 3 to go, plus a bonus 3 they just added! It helps our bodies and our spirits to be in nature. I am also going for bike rides with my dad, Eddie, on our tandem and joining dance parties on Zoom.These types of activities fit great with Prader-Willi California Foundation Community Week, which will be from July 27th to August 1, 2020.You can learn more about our Virtual Walk and PWCF at the Foundation’s website, www.pwcf.org.
